Welcome to the Flower Press!

Welcome to the Flower Press! Here you will discover more about the owners, the plants, the process of making these beautiful creations and how to care for them in your home! Our goal is to share our 25 combined years of growing knowledge with each of you and to encourage you to become stewards of nature!

A little about us,

We are Rebecca and Dulaney, and we love growing plants! It’s the backbone of R and D Floral. We began this journey as a wholesale flower company. Then we noticed each week we had flowers left over, maybe the stem was too short, maybe we picked more than our florists needed...or maybe a bloom was a little too wonky?

After weeks of heartbreakingly composting these beautiful blooms, we started thinking outside of the box:

·       How could we utilize these flowers and reduce what needs to be composted?

·       Is there a way to showcase them? Wonky or not?

After some pondering and lots of trial and error, our first resin earring was born! And boy were they ugly! There were bubbles all in the face of the earring- was there even a flower in it?

If there’s one thing farming has taught us, it’s perseverance!  We felt confident in the idea of preserving flowers to bring beauty to you, our customer. And so began the journey of Research and Development- after all, it’s right there in our name! We began learning, trialing and tweaking our process. Now you can see this determination to create a beautiful product in the items we sell.

The earrings were our beginning followed by coasters and magnets. We are sure the list of unique one-of-a-kind creations is not done growing. But what we can tell you is that with each item you see, there’s no identical match!

The flowers that began as an unwanted leftover have the true underdog story. Instead of lasting two weeks in a vase, they now are preserved in resin to last for years to come!

Ponder through our selections and search for a one-of-a-kind match you can take as you travel through this beautiful, weird thing we call life!
